Kathleen McMusing showed several suggestions and those inspired me to make a choice of style and placement. Mine are on all the corners. I haven't figured out what to do yet in the very corners.
All finished up and put through the washer and dryer. I'm happy to have put this center block to use. Thank you for the fun and casual quilt along. It has been interesting to see how each person's "mystery" has been solved.
Decided to go with my initial for a block since the kite block didn't seem to fit in. But it would have been good corner blocks I suppose. The blocks I am joining the Birds in the Air block to are 6 inches unfinished so I drew a paper pieced block because I couldn't do the math for that an unfinished 6 inch block. I found a free pattern for 6.5" unfinished. Oh well. The paper one worked out ok. I was running out of that shade of blue fabric but I pieced 2 pieces together so my 4 blocks would match. Now I will work on figuring out the details of finishing it up. Thank you to the bloggers that furnished pattern ideas. It was a fun adventure.
I chose to do Braid for this prompt. I haven't sewn it onto the center block yet because I kinda want to see what comes next and do I want the braid on the sides or on the top and bottom of the first block? I thought about putting braid all the way around but I think it would overpower the center block.
I love the corner placement, Betty! Thanks for joining us this year!
